Summer Camp: All About Animals Class
From weaving to painting, spend a week creating a world of animals both real and imaginary along side other animal lovers.

A week for animal lovers and hands-on makers.
We’ll explore animals through both art and making. Campers create drawings and paintings of animals and their habitats, then bring them to life using fiber arts — yarn, felt, wool, and fabric.
Students learn how different animal fibers (like wool and silk) become art materials and use them in fun, approachable projects: felting soft creatures, simple weaving, dyeing fibers, and creating textured artwork. We guide each step so beginners can succeed, while experienced artists can add their own ideas and details.
During the drawing and painting portion, we practice how to show fur, feathers, scales, and patterns using pencil, pastel, watercolor, and acrylic paint. Campers may work from photos, observation, or imagination and will create a series of artworks over the week.
This is an active studio week — campers move between drawing, painting, and building so everyone stays engaged and inspired.
No experience necessary. Teachers provide step-by-step help and individual support.
Great for kids who:
• love animals
• enjoy crafts and hands-on projects
• like texture and building
• prefer variety rather than one long project
• may feel unsure about drawing but like making things
Campers go home with:
• animal drawings and paintings
• a handmade felt or fiber creature
• woven or dyed fiber artwork
• sketchbook studies and experiments
Families are invited to our Friday art show and celebration.
